Nut SeedThis is the monthly report written and compiled by teacher peris siamanta of Club123s in Enkii primary school for the month of September 2009·

First I would like to apologize for the delay of last month’s report. My mum who is also a great help in the Club has been sick, so we had to pay a little bit more attention to her.

Secondly, I would like to congratulate Enkii students for the good work they have done since we started this Club. They have contributed wholeheartedly, despite many challenges they have encountered.

Nut SeedlingThis month we have managed to do a lot of things like collecting the plastic bags or nylon bags. We are planning to make mattresses for each student of Club123s. We sleep on cow’s skin. So we will put these mattresses and feel the difference, hence keeping our environment clean. We are using empty sacks like a big bag to sleep on.

We have also learnt a lot from different books and, nowadays, we are taking exams, so that I can see how much they are understanding.

I have told them that next year we will be having some visitors, so they should prepare themselves and they are eager and anxious to see the visitors.

We thought that instead of calling ourselves the usual common names, we should be eco-conscious people and call ourselves eco–names. We thought that we need only three things for a plant to grow, that is: soil, water and sunshine. So, the standard six are the soil, the standard seven are the water and standard eight are the sunshine. And the students were so happy about their new names.

We also planted the seeds you sent us and we are waiting for them to sprout. I have also taken a video of this and we were all shocked. We could not think or imagine that we could plant a paper. Let's see if a paper will grow!! HA! HA! HA!

Club123s LogoWe will have a tree counting next month to see how much we have achieved and how many trees we have added on earth. I hope it will not break our hearts, because we still need the fence desperately. We hope and pray for you to get the sponsors soon.

The students are also anxiously waiting for the revival of the penpal project.

We are also waiting for the certificates and probably we will have a small party to bid the standard eight 123’s members farewell. That’s all for now from Club123s Enkii. we wish you all the best in your education.

Yours sincerely,

  1. I love the eco-names idea for the grades: why did we have so boring names such as eight grade? Much better "sunshine". :)
